But eventually you will have to write the jamb and since NYSC is compulsory in Nigeria you will need jamb to go ahead with that

Once you accept admission on JAMB CAPS, it can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks for your school to finalize it.

Let me break it down for you:

JAMB CAPS acceptance means you’ve confirmed the admission offered by JAMB. But that doesn’t automatically mean your school has uploaded your details fully yet or issued you admission letters internally.

If your school has already uploaded your admission list, the process is usually faster—between 2 to 14 days.

If it’s a federal university like UNIBEN or UNILORIN, they tend to sync faster with JAMB.

Polytechnics and state universities sometimes delay because they wait for full batches to complete before updating the system.

What you should do while waiting:

Keep checking your school’s admission portal.

Make sure your O’level results have been uploaded on JAMB CAPS.

Print your admission letter from JAMB once it’s live.

If it takes over 3 weeks, contact your school’s admission office.

Don’t just wait blindly o—JAMB don do their part, na your school you suppose dey follow up now.

More also the university cannot give an individual more than one admission in a year. So even if it were possible to apply for an admission with combined jamb result, then only one of the result is going to be considered by the university.

Yes, you can gain admission in Nigeria without writing JAMB, but it depends on the route or institution. Not all programs require JAMB, especially part-time, diploma, and direct-entry alternatives.

A guy I know got into LASU through JUPEB without ever writing UTME. Another friend got admitted into a Polytechnic’s part-time program while working as a barber.

Here are the main legit ways:

    1. JUPEB (Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board): You do a 1-year program, pass the exam, and gain direct entry into 200 level in affiliated universities like UNILAG, UNIBEN, UNN, etc.

    2. IJMB (Interim Joint Matriculation Board): Similar to JUPEB, also for 200-level admission after a year of study. Works well for Northern schools like ABU Zaria.

    3. Part-Time or Weekend Programs: Most Polytechnics and Universities offer this. You won’t need JAMB but will likely do an internal entrance test.

    4. NOUN (National Open University of Nigeria): Admission is open without JAMB. You apply directly online.

    5. Pre-degree or Remedial Programs: Offered by schools like UNIPORT, UNILORIN, FUTO. After completion, you get automatic 100-level admission if you meet their cut-off.

Don’t let JAMB be your only hope. But don’t fall for “miracle admission” scams either—most end in tears. Look for real programs with proven success.
