Both patience and skill matter when launching a business, but they play different roles at different stages. The real success usually comes from combining both. 🚀

    1. Why Patience Matters ⏳

Patience is critical because businesses rarely succeed overnight.

    You will likely face:
    • Slow sales at the beginning
    • Mistakes and learning curves
    • Competition
    • Financial pressure

Many businesses fail because the owner quits too early, not because the idea was bad.

For example, companies like Amazon and Apple took years of persistence before becoming huge successes.

    Patience helps you:
    • keep improving
    • survive tough periods
    • build customer trust

    2. Why Skill Matters 🧠

Skill helps you avoid costly mistakes and grow faster.

    Important business skills include:
    • marketing
    • customer service
    • financial management
    • problem-solving

Without skill, patience alone can mean waiting a long time without progress.

    3. Which One Matters More?

A useful way to think about it:
    • Skill helps you start strong.
    • Patience helps you survive long enough to win.

Many successful entrepreneurs say patience and persistence often matter slightly more, because skills can be learned over time, but people who lack patience usually quit.

For example, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos built companies through years of persistence, experimentation, and learning.

    ✅ Simple conclusion

The best formula for business success is:

    Skill + Patience + Consistency
    • Skill helps you do things correctly
    • Patience helps you keep going until results appear

If you want to get a job in digital marketing, it’s important to learn skills that are both practical and in demand. Start with social media marketing, because many businesses need people who can manage pages, create content, and engage customers. Learning SEO is also important so you understand how websites and content rank on Google.

You should also learn content creation, such as writing posts, emails, or simple blog articles, since content is a big part of marketing. Having basic knowledge of paid ads like Facebook or Google Ads is a plus, as many companies use them to reach customers. Understanding analytics is helpful too, so you can track results and know what is working.

Basic design skills using tools like Canva can make your work better, even if you’re not a professional designer. Overall, focus on learning gradually, practice often, and use free online resources to build experience.

Many online earning platforms promise high returns with very little effort, but most end up being scams that lead to financial loss or data theft. I want to know the specific “red flags” to look out for when evaluating a new website or app. Are there certain features, like unrealistic referral bonuses or a lack of clear contact information, that immediately signal a platform is a Ponzi scheme? I would appreciate a checklist or any reliable tools I can use to verify if a platform is legitimate before I sign up or share my BVN.

If you have been in the internet space long enough you would have noticed that most earning opportunities are ponzi schemes.

The first red flag to look out for: If they promise you outrageous interest on investment please be careful that’s the easiest way to catch them. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
Second: If the website is new but lies that they have been around for long run!
Third: Most of these websites have the same look and user interface, if you have fallen for one before be not deceived its probably the same website rebranded.
Fourth: If the owners can not be traced it’s almost always scam
Fifth: If the trust score is low run.

If you don’t understand how they generate income it’s always through robbing Peter to give Paul. Never share your sensitive details with websites you don’t trust.

Most good investments promise about 15-25% interest per annum and they deliver. If you don’t want to see your money go down the drain go slow and steady. Patience is key.

A traditional degree is no longer strictly necessary for success in tech and business in 2026, but it can still help in certain paths. Many companies now value skills, portfolios, and real project experience more than formal education, especially in tech roles where results matter. However, a degree can still be useful for structured learning, credibility in some industries, and easier entry into big companies. Ultimately, skills and proof of work matter more than the degree itself today.

Avoid getting involved in Ponzi schemes, especially as a student. You’ll end up losing your money quickly instead of earning any. These schemes fall apart when they run out of new participants, leaving you at risk of losing everything you invested.

    Instead, consider these alternatives:
    1. Completing micro-tasks on platforms like Remotasks or Toloka.
    2. Offering your skills for sale on Upwork or Fiverr.
    3. Providing tutoring services on campus or taking up part-time jobs.

Make sure to prioritize your safety and future by steering clear of risky schemes that are destined to collapse.
