Low prices appeal to the desire to maximize value, stretching limited budgets for essential or desired goods. Economic constraints often drive people to seek affordability, prioritizing immediate savings over long-term quality. Psychologically, getting a deal triggers a sense of achievement, boosting dopamine. Social pressures, like comparing purchases with peers, reinforce choosing cheaper options to signal savvy spending. Clear communication in marketing, as discussed, makes low prices more appealing through promotions or discounts.

Cultural values or upbringing may emphasize frugality, shaping preferences from an early age. However, some overlook quality, risking dissatisfaction, as therapy might reveal about decision-making patterns. In relationships, like with an overprotective partner, prioritizing cost can reflect a need for control or security.
