I guess people are more empowered now about the importance of investing and starting business. In the past, many people used to believe that business is only for the rich and financially stable. But now, more people have been empowered that you can start a business small and grow.
Another reason that could be making people start business is lack of employment that is so rampant in most nations. People have education and skills but cannot secure a job, so they opt for self employment in sole proprietorship and partnerships.
