This is actually a Nigerian mentality and I don’t feel it is right because not everyone is going to make it to academically the other people to do well in order areas even though academics stand as the foundation to everything as far as the age that we are in currently is concerned.
But I believe that there should be a certain point whereby the individual is allowed to decide and that should not be something that they even decide independently but the parents will be able to notice where the interest of the individual is and channel that energy to make their lives better in that area
