So when the money is embezzle there’s no money to continue with the project. So the work is slowed down and before you know it the project is completely stopped half way and that’s why we have white elephant projects scattered everywhere in the country. Corruption and mismanagement, as seen in Nigeria’s leadership issues, divert project funds, stalling progress. Inadequate infrastructure, like unreliable power or poor roads, slows construction and logistics. Bureaucratic red tape and inconsistent policies create delays in approvals and funding. Political interference, tied to the politics, prioritizes vested interests over timelines. Insufficient skilled labor and reliance on outdated technology hamper efficiency, unlike streamlined businesses like perfumery.
Insecurity, such as insurgency or vandalism, disrupts project sites, especially in northern regions. Poor planning and lack of accountability fail to address risks, reflecting weak communication in governance. Public apathy or distrust, as discussed, limits community push for timely completion.
