Which Poultry is most profitable: Chicken, Turkey or Duck?

I need your help determining which type of poultry yields the most return on investment. I’m trying to decide between growing chickens and turkeys, but I’m not sure which one would bring in more money. I’m just looking for more details to assist me make a wise choice. So, what do you propose? Your assistance in this topic is much appreciated. I am thinking about starting a chicken farm, and I was wondering what kind of birds you believe will bring in the most money. What do you recommend, hens or turkeys? What can you do to aid us?

Also, I’m thinking about getting some ducks. I’ve been reading, and others tell me firsthand that they are excellent to eat. What do you think? Should I start a duck farm as well? And if so, what’s the sweet spot for the first sample size? Is there anything you need know before starting a duck farm, and which breed do you recommend? Some breeds supposedly lay eggs while others don’t. Which one do you recommend I use? And if I do decide to raise ducks, how many do I need to get started?

My primary objective is to guarantee that each and every one of my customers receives just what it is that they are searching for in terms of product quality, price point, and service level; I want them to get the impression that they are obtaining precisely what they want!

I want to make certain that we are constantly providing our customers with the greatest possible experience, and I believe that one of the best ways to achieve this would be to determine which variety of fowl brings in the most revenue.

One kilo of chicken meat costs around $4, however, duck meat can cost up to $6, whereas turkey meat can cost up to $12 per kilo. While selling chicken mean is easy as it is a very common meat animal, selling turkey or duck is difficult because there are not common meat animals.

In general, turkeys offer the best opportunity for profits if you have the space and can market them well during peak holiday demand. But chickens are a steady, low-risk poultry choice that can provide consistent income from both meat and eggs. Speak to your agricultural extension agent to understand local costs, regulations, and marketing opportunities to determine the most profitable poultry for your farm.
There are a few factors to consider when determining which type of poultry is most profitable:

    • Chickens are the most common and widely raised type of poultry. They are relatively inexpensive to raise, mature quickly, and can produce eggs frequently. Broiler chickens raised for meat are efficient at converting feed to meat. However, profit margins on chickens can be quite small due to high competition.
    • Turkeys take longer to raise and require more space than chickens. But they command a higher market price per pound. Turkeys are popular especially around Thanksgiving and the holidays. The higher sales price often makes turkeys more profitable than chickens on a per bird basis.
    • Ducks also provide meat and eggs but are not as efficient at converting feed to meat compared to chickens or turkeys. Duck eggs can sell for a premium over chicken eggs. Ducks require access to water for swimming and keeping their feathers healthy.

In my location, chickens are more profitable simply because they’re the cheapest in terms of cost of production and pricing of final product. There is a soaring demand for chickens but not same can be said for turkeys and ducks because not many people can afford them.

Hoping to venture into poultry, And you’re like “What am I going to make the most money fromChicken turkey, or duck Here’s a quick breakdown from me. Chickens are similar to the ‘candy’ of the poultry farm. Everybody likes them, they grow fast, and you dont have a problem selling them. Bt turkeys? They are expensive to keep, but they produce more revenue per head. Ducks are cool too, but its market is much more niche. Hence for newcomers, it is more advantageous to rear chickens if you want regular income. Just get to it, and start making that money.

If you are into the business to make money then I believe rearing chickens is far much better and more lucrative and profitable than the other two combined.

Why I said this is because chickens grow faster than ducks and they also crew faster which means you have more money in short intervals.
