I got mine inside Computer Village same day I applied. If you dey look for low-cost one, avoid Moniepoint first because dem dey charge POS caution fee of ₦21,500 now. Kuda used to be cheap too but dem don pause new POS rollout for now.

Forget the hype, if na small hustle you wan start, Opay or PalmPay Mini POS go do the job. But make sure your location get good network and people wey dey withdraw cash steady. Na your transaction volume go cover your cost quickly.
Some agents dey even sell used machines cheaper if you sabi bargain. Just no buy any POS from Facebook sellers wey no get store — 2025 still get scammers everywhere.

In 2025, the cheapest POS machine you can get without stress is from Moniepoint. They’re still offering it for around ₦21,500 with easy onboarding and low daily targets. The thing I like about them is that once you meet the transaction requirement, you don’t get charged hidden fees like some other platforms.

If you’re just starting out, Opay is also a strong option. You can get their mini POS for between ₦15,000 to ₦20,000 depending on your agent. But the full Android type costs more. Some people say Palmpay gives out free POS—yes, but only if you’re hitting serious targets monthly. If you don’t, they’ll collect it back or fine you.

From experience, I’d say don’t chase the cheapest blindly. Look at how fast it works, how easy it is to get support, and how much they’ll deduct per transaction. Cheap POS with bad support can frustrate your customers and kill your street credibility.

If you’re serious about the business, go for one with low charges and stable uptime. It’s better to invest once than replace POS every few months.
