When will mining die completely?

Mining lives as long as there is a cryptocurrency and with each halving the profit decreases and every year a certain number of people leave the field. After the transition of ether to program 2.0, a very large number of people left mining. But what would it take for mining to die completely?

Mining as come a long way to be unstoppable in the world, everyday people from different destinations are downloading mining application to their phone making it complicated to stopped.

The fact that mining generate income to miners also make it difficult to “die” as you said. What I noticed is that instead of the number of miners to decrease, the number is increasing proving that mining is a source of income to individual.

I believe that popular coin like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin cash, BNB and so on has changed people life for good, so I think nothing will turn individual to back off from mining.

The demise of mining is a complex and gradual process influenced by technological advancements, environmental concerns, and economic shifts. While predictions vary, it’s unlikely that mining will completely vanish in the near future. However, the industry is undergoing significant transformations. The growth of renewable energy sources and sustainable practices may reduce the reliance on traditional mining for fossil fuels and metals. Technological innovations, like urban mining and recycling, could also lessen the need for raw material extraction. Moreover, the emergence of digital currencies might shift the focus from physical mining to virtual alternatives. Despite these changes, mining might persist in some capacity due to ongoing demand for certain resources. The timeline for the complete decline of mining remains uncertain and could span several decades as societies transition toward more sustainable and efficient practices.

I don’t think mining will ever die completely for so many reasons, there will always be demand of new coins to spur new speculations in the crypto markets and due to this a lot of enthusiasts will be pumping out new coins.

And the fanboys will always keep on mining because when the coin is finally listed on exchanges they’ll be able to cash out from it, it’s a supply and demand kind of thing.
