One advantage of being around a school environment is that you will have a lot of customers due to the high population of any school environment in Nigeria.

Youcan start selling provision in the school hostel which will make you a lot of money that at least will be enough to Qatar and handle some of your monthly expenses.

You can alao Start a skill business like Barbing salon or dry cleaning which I believe does not require much capital.

For any student I think that business idea that I can recommend is selling of data and airtime even though people will say that it is a business that is saturated but I can assure you that once you begin you will discover that despite the fact that it is a saturated business it is still needed by a lot of people and as such you will always have customers as far as you begin.

So for a student, I will recommend that as far as you can be able to manage the selling of airtime and data, just get your apps ready and your little capital and you can continue recycling your money and making your small interest and be time you see that you always have a steady income source because the idea of business is not actually just the interest but the constant flow of cash.

The best side hustle for a student with small capital in Nigeria is reselling (a.k.a mini importation or dropshipping). It’s cheap to start, easy to run on campus, and can bring quick cash flow if done right.

Let me break it down clearly:

    1. Resell Fast-Moving Products

With just ₦5k to ₦20k, you can start selling things like:

    Phone accessories (earpods, chargers, cases)

    Perfumes or body sprays

    Data bundles or airtime

Waist trainers or skincare You can buy these from Lagos markets (like Tradefair, Alaba) or from suppliers on WhatsApp and resell on campus or social media.

    2. Start Data Reselling

With as low as ₦1,000, register on platforms like VTU.ng, Dataway.ng, or Topupguy. Sell data and airtime to fellow students and earn small profit per sale. It’s daily income.

    3. Typing or Assignment Services

If you’re good with typing, research, or PowerPoint, offer to help students with assignments or projects. Many pay ₦500–₦5,000 depending on the work.

    4. Snacks or Food Business

Students will always eat. If you can cook or bake, start selling meatpie, puff puff, egg rolls, zobo, or even parfait in class. Start small and grow daily.

    5. POS Business (if you have ₦30k–₦50k)

You can become a mobile agent for Opay or Moniepoint on campus. Look for a safe and busy corner. Students always need cash.

Real Talk: Start something simple and low-risk. Avoid crypto, betting, or apps promising “double money.” You’re not too young to make money daily—start small and scale. What skill do you already have? Let’s build on that.

There are several side hustles a student can startup that does not really require capital.

    Affiliate marketing:

This does not require capital to start up in most cases as you do not have to buy the products directly before you start earning here. You also do not need a website before you can start marking and promoting your products and links as most people believe. You can simply make use of your social media accounts.

    Sales of t-shirt:

Starting a T-shirt selling business as a student does not really much capital, you do not even need a store before you can startup. You can buy the tshirts at an affordable price and resell with the help of social media.

Yes, side hustle is best for students to help you make little income
you can  try freelance writing, graphic design, or even social media management on platforms like Fiverr.

you could also start an Etsy shop or get into affiliate marketing. since you’re in high school, with little Capital suggest something flexible.  if you have skills in digital marketing, social media marketing, paid ads, etc., you can offer your skills as a service to business owners and get paid for it. Start by mastering the core skills you need to get results for clients.

Some good side hustles to start with a low budge or little capital are enormous online. So you can pick from freelance writing, virtual assistance, graphic design, tutoring, social media management, pet sitting, and selling handmade crafts online.
