Most marital conflict usually doesn’t come from one big problem it builds from small unresolved issues over time. Poor communication, lack of trust, financial stress, feeling unappreciated, and unmet expectations are some of the biggest causes. Many couples also stop listening to understand and start listening only to react, which makes arguments worse. In my view, the healthiest marriages are not conflict-free they’re relationships where both people are willing to communicate honestly, respect each other, and solve problems as a team instead of treating each other like opponents.
