It can make fast money, but it’s stressful and risky if you don’t know what you’re doing. Holding is the opposite you buy and just sit on it for months or years, hoping it grows long-term. It’s less stressful and more about patience. I’d say trade if you’ve got time to learn and watch the market closely, but hold if you want to play it safer and avoid daily stress.

Holding (HODLing) is a type of trading.
There are broadly two types of trades on most exchanges. These are Spot and Futures trading.
Spot is the type of trade where a trader can only buy assets and holds them with no additional charge from their broker generally. This is a passive kind of trade and a trader’s position will not be closed even when the trade is -100% cumulatively.
Futures trade on the other hand is a kind of trade where traders can either buy or sell though not in the direct sense. A “buy” order here means a trader expects price to go higher than their buy order and a “sell” order means a trader expects price to go lower than their activated sell order.
So to answer your question, holding (HODLing) is not different from trading. It is in fact a type of spot trade.
