As a business owner, I have a few key expectations for employees:
Reliability – I expect employees to show up on time, be dependable, meet deadlines, and fulfill commitments. I need to trust they’ll consistently handle their responsibilities.
Integrity – Employees should demonstrate honesty, ethics, and transparency in their actions. I expect them to own mistakes, avoid blame games, and do the right thing.
Accountability – They must take ownership of their work and see projects through from start to finish. I expect employees to be self-motivated and driven.
Communication – Clear, timely, and proactive communication is essential. Employees need to keep me informed, provide status updates, and ask clarifying questions when needed.
Teamwork – The ability to collaborate with colleagues and work toward shared goals is hugely important. People need to check their egos, chip in where needed, and be good team players.
Critical thinking – I expect analysts who can solve problems, think strategically, and make sound recommendations. Creative thinking and innovation are also encouraged.
Continuous learning – Employees should always be looking to develop new skills, keep up with industry trends, and bring fresh ideas to the table. Lifelong learning is a must.
Quality focus – In all tasks, employees should aim for excellence. I expect attention to detail, well-executed deliverables, and a commitment to making the business better.
Passion – Ideally employees are engaged in their work and invested in the success of the company as if it were their own. Enthusiasm and drive make a big difference.
