I chose self employed because I will have control over my career. I will have freedom to pursue my passions and the direction of my career.

Being Self-employed can also lead to my personal growth and development as I will take on challenges and learn new skills which will help me to run my business effectively.

Lastly, being self employed gives me the opportunity to work from home or any location that suits me, online or offline.

On the other hand working under someone they put you on the advantage to learn business activities more effectively and more efficiently because the individual you work for would be a superior and possibly an expert or professional in a particular business venture, however you stand the chance to learn a lot from him so as to be effective and efficient when you establish your own personal business.

Independence is provided by self-employment, but it also entails financial risks and responsibilities. While traditional employment can be stable, it may also restrict creative control. When selecting which path is better suited to your requirements and desires, it’s imperative to take into account variables like stable income, job security, work-life balance, and personal goals. Both choices offer pros and drawbacks.

As for me whether being employed or self-employed its all depends on your personal circumstances and goals. Both employment options have their advantages and disadvantages. Like being employed by someone it typically provides a stable income, benefits (like healthcare and retirement plans), and job security and you often have set working hours and can leave work at due time.
Also being self-employed offers freedom and autonomy to make your own decisions and be your own boss your income potential is not limited by a fixed salary; it can grow with the success of your business So they both have benefits.

It really depends on your goals, risk tolerance, and personal strengths. Being self-employed offers freedom, flexibility, and the potential for higher earnings, but it also comes with uncertainty, responsibility, and the pressure of managing everything yourself. Working under someone provides stability, regular income, and opportunities to learn from experienced leaders, which can be valuable early in your career. Ideally, if you have the skills, discipline, and resources to grow your own business, self-employment can be very rewarding, but gaining experience and knowledge while working for someone else can also set you up for long-term success.

Whether being self-employed or working under someone is better depends on your goals, personality, and risk tolerance. Self-employment gives freedom—you control your schedule, choose your projects, and directly benefit from your efforts. It allows creativity, flexible work hours, and potentially higher income if your business succeeds. However, it comes with risks: income can be unstable, you handle all responsibilities, and you must manage taxes, marketing, and clients yourself.

Working under someone offers stability and structure. You usually get a steady salary, benefits like health insurance, and less personal risk. You can also learn from experienced colleagues and build skills within a system. The downside is less flexibility, limited income growth compared to a successful business, and being accountable to bosses.

The “better” choice depends on your financial goals, risk tolerance, and desire for independence. Many people start under someone to gain experience, then transition to self-employment when confident.
