The conventional education system would have been so good in teaching financial management. This is because the system is designed using curriculum and a clear syllabus to follow. That would have been so good in giving people a set of skills to manage their finances. Unfortunately, the education system does not have financial management as one of the courses to study. This has caused many of us to learn financial literacy on our own. You have to choose clearly what you need to learn instead of learning everything and mastering nothing.

Self-education is a very nice way of teaching yourself on your child at home without necessarily allowing him to go to school or paying the school fees that is not sometimes very meaningful.
But the disadvantage is that you have to be present all the time because if you don’t have time for yourself or your child, he might be left behind.

Choosing between self-education and the conventional education system depends on your goals, learning style, and resources. Conventional education offers structured learning, recognized qualifications, and social interaction, which can open doors to traditional jobs and professional networks. Self-education, on the other hand, provides flexibility, personalized learning, and practical skills, often at a lower cost and faster pace. While conventional education provides general knowledge, self-education often teaches more practical financial skills. Most schools focus on theory and rarely cover personal finance in depth, like budgeting, investing, or managing debt. Self-education through books, online courses, podcasts, or real-life experience lets you learn at your own pace, apply lessons directly, and adapt strategies to your life. Combining both can be powerful, but for money management specifically, taking initiative to educate yourself usually has the most immediate impact.
