I want to know if Xchange Ltd. (xchange.com.ng) is legit. Because I am planning to use the site, but it doesn’t look real to me with the Play Store reviews on the app.

That “PayPal will release it on 9/05/2026” excuse is also very suspicious. If PayPal placed a hold, they should show you evidence (PayPal transaction status screenshot, tracking ID, dispute reason, and hold reason). Not just talk.
And the “pending for 45 minutes then timeout” is another red flag—real platforms don’t do that after receiving money.
The painful truth
If they received the PayPal funds and didn’t pay you, you were scammed.
Not “maybe”. Not “likely”. That is scam behavior.
What you should do immediately (before it’s too late)
1. Open a PayPal dispute NOW
Go to PayPal → Resolution Center
If you paid as Friends & Family, recovery is harder, but still report it.
2. Escalate it to a claim
Do not stop at dispute. Escalate to a claim quickly so PayPal can investigate.
3. Screenshot everything
Gather evidence:
This strengthens your PayPal case.
4. Report their WhatsApp number
Report the WhatsApp contact for fraud.
5. Report the website publicly
This is important:
Because like you said, the problem is they have no real online footprint, so people keep falling for it.
About their fake Play Store reviews
You’re right. Those reviews like:
are typical paid/fake reviews. Real users mention:
When reviews have no transaction details, it’s usually manipulation.
Avoid xchange.com.ng completely.
See lessIf you want to exchange PayPal funds, use platforms where you can hold sellers accountable (P2P escrow systems) or use trusted exchangers with strong public reputations.
I’m not defending them but I’ve used xchange.com.ng once and I got paid. It took about 2 hours though. But I agree their support is poor and they don’t communicate well. Maybe they’re overwhelmed or understaffed. Still, rejecting calls is unprofessional.

I went to xchange.com.ng. After I sent the money through PayPal without any problems. I never got paid. Even when I talked to their so-called 24/7 online support, they didn’t answer. The owner was online but never answered WhatsApp messages and even hung up on me more than seven times before going offline. He said that PayPal would release the transaction that took place on 18/04/2026 on 9/05/2026 after a lot of pressure.
The worst part is that they don’t even answer messages, even though they say they are always online. Another thing was that the transaction showed as pending on their website for more than 45 minutes after payment.
I check the site after a day and see that they showed my transaction as a timeout with no details. I made a mistake by not looking at the reviews of their app on the Play Store. But when I looked, I saw that they don’t have any important reviews, just bad ones like “good,” “nice,” and “thanks.” I’ll give it a shot. Wow, great job.
It’s clear that these are not real people who use their site or app to write reviews. So it’s a trick. You can only do business for $20, which is a lot, and they charge a lot, N1000. People should look somewhere else. You won’t find any reviews about them online.
See lessThis is why I don’t trust these Nigerian exchange sites. They always claim “24/7 support” but once you send money they disappear. If the owner rejected calls 7 times, that’s not normal business behavior. Even if PayPal is holding it, they should respond and reassure you. Thanks for warning people.

See lessWow this is exactly what happened to me too. Mine didn’t even reach timeout, it just stayed pending and I kept waiting. Their WhatsApp support is fake, they only reply when they feel like. After that experience I stopped using them completely. Thanks for sharing because people need to see this.

See lessHmm this is scary. I was about to use them this week because their rate looked good. But the “timeout” thing you mentioned is a serious red flag. A legit exchange platform should show clear transaction history and proof. If they can’t respond to messages, that’s already enough reason to avoid.

See lessTo be fair, PayPal sometimes holds transactions, especially if it’s tagged as “goods and services” or suspicious. But the real issue here is their communication. If PayPal is holding it, they should explain that immediately and show proof, not ignore you and reject calls.
