I can't pay my debts what options do I have?

I have a question: what options do I have if I can’t pay my bills?

I’ve been borrowing money from different people, and now I’m stuck. I’m scared that I’ll be arrested and lose my job.

However, due to the fact that I do not make enough money at the moment, I will not be able to pay back the loan in addition to everything else that has to be paid for in my life (including rent and food, which are all quite expensive). How can I help?

Can you tell me which options I have?

Currently there are many individuals who lend money at high interest rates either with collateral or non-collateral, and they generally have debt collectors, who will terrorize and threaten you both at home and at the office so that you can lose your job. The best option for you is to sell your valuables such as motorbikes, laptops, smartphones, etc. and pay off your debt immediately before your debt gets bigger because of compound interest.

Here are some options if you can’t pay your debts:

    • Debt management plan – Work with a non-profit credit counseling agency to consolidate your debts and negotiate lower interest rates and payments.
    • Debt settlement – The credit counselor negotiates with creditors to settle debts for less than the full amount owed. This has an impact on your credit score.
    • Debt consolidation loan – Take a new loan to pay off multiple debts and debts. This combines debts into one payment.
    • Balance transfer credit card – Transfer high-interest debts to a 0% balance transfer card to pay it off without interest for a period of time.
    • Personal loan – Take a lower interest personal loan to pay off high-interest debts and consolidate payments into one monthly payment.
    • Bankruptcy – As a last resort, filing for bankruptcy liquidates assets to pay debts or legally discharges certain debts. Major impact on creditworthiness.
    • Speak to creditors – Explain your situation and request reduced or delayed payments or temporarily lower interest rates until you can pay.
    • Prioritize essential expenses – Pay secured debts and living expenses first while negotiating, settling, or seeking help on unsecured debts.
    • Increase income – Take steps to earn more income through a second job, freelancing gigs, selling assets, etc. to pay off debts.
    • Seek debt help – Consult a non-profit debt advisor for guidance on managing debts based on your specific situation.

You are not alone on this, they are a lot of people in this mess that don’t seem to be able to pay their debt you can do the following.

Start by letting your creditors know about this. There’s no need keeping this hidden and try to evade payment. Open up to those you are owing and try to work a more visible payment plan with them to give you more time to pay back.

You have to start looking for what to do, if you are not working at the moment to help you make money

Keep to your promise of paying back as money gets into your hands to redeem your reputation.

I love your opinion about informing your lenders about the situation. There is no need to ghost them or avoid paying back, you might need them some other time. Informing them may also come with the advantage of them pardoning you. Especially if they are people closest to you, some may decide to forego the money as a good friend.

Whoever promise you make to these people, make sure to fulfill it.

There are those people that you can borrow money for essential things and you don’t have to pay them back. Asking for help is normal and understandable.

Also, ask those who you borrowed money from to give you more time. Assure them that you are working on paying them back.

Then as soon as you earn money, budget it well and prioritize clearing those debts. With time and discipline, you will get back on your feet.

How to deal with debt when you can’t pay is to adopt workable solutions

If you’re behind on your bills, don’t wait to  get a call from the creditors you owe money to. Start by  Doing the calling  before a debt collector gets involved. You need to call and tell your creditors what’s going on, and try to work out a new payment plan with lower payments you can manage.

But if not consider your options, whether it’s applying for a debt consolidation loan,or credit counseling but whichever way just do something

You can writes off unsecured debts if you cannot repay them. Any assets like a house or car may be sold.
