Saving money together as a couple is the way to go. As it would bring fairness and transparency to the marriage . You can have a little competition like “Saver of the Month.” Small wins along the way to  add a sprinkle of fun and friendly competition, keeping you all motivated to reach your financial goals together .

You can have couple Automate saving or consider a joint account.  but if not each person should have their own personal account, and then have one joint account where you both transfer an agreed-upon amount each month. Then, as a couple, you guys set a savings goal. It could be to buy a house, to pay rents or any other goal. Sincerity and dedication is important if couples savings would ever work out.
