Dealing with a stalking ex on social media can be emotionally exhausting, confusing, and even frightening, especially when the relationship is already in the past and you are trying to move on. The first thing to understand is that you are not overreacting. If someone keeps monitoring your posts, messaging you repeatedly, creating fake accounts, or showing signs of obsession, it is a real boundary issue. One of the healthiest steps you can take is to limit their access to your online life. This might mean blocking them, adjusting your privacy settings, or removing personal details that make it easy for them to track you. It is also important not to engage with them, even to argue or explain yourself, because attention often encourages the behavior to continue.

Emotionally, try not to blame yourself or feel guilty. Their actions are a reflection of their inability to let go, not a sign that you owe them anything. Keep evidence of the behavior, such as screenshots, in case it escalates and you need to report it. Most importantly, protect your peace. Talk to trusted friends, take breaks from social media if needed, and remind yourself that you deserve safety, respect, and freedom—both online and offline.

People that stalk you are craving for your attention and when you ignore them, they alway would get tired and leave you to be. If your ex is stalking you on social media, just ignore them entirely. Make them feel they don’t exist. Their energy would soon get exhausted to stalk you since they are not achieving any results with getting your attention.

Social media comes with an option to either completely block a person, which means they won’t be able to message you or see your contents, or if you don’t want to block, you can simply restrict them from seeing your post.

In my opinion, exes only stock you when you leave them high and dry in a relationship. When they still have questions about what exactly happened and what your feelings were. They want to find out if it was another woman that caused the split. If your information is public on social media, your ex has a right to look at it. If you don’t want her seeing anything then keep it all private. Your ex looking at your social media is not stalking by the way stalking is when they are making you feel for your life because they’re watching you if it becomes a huge issue, get a restraining order against her.
