I used to think balancing a baby and a 9-5 was something only “superwomen” could pull off — until I had no choice but to become one. Here’s what I’ve learned the hard way:
1. Create a routine, not a perfect schedule. Kids are unpredictable. Instead of stressing over timelines, focus on rhythms: nap time = deep work time. Feeding time = email replies or planning.
2. Accept help without shame. Whether it’s your mum, mother-in-law, a nanny, or even your partner — you’ll need support. Don’t wait till you burn out to ask.
3. Automate and batch tasks. I cook in bulk, schedule meetings during baby’s nap, and prep outfits for the week every Sunday night. That 10 mins saved here and there adds up.
4. Learn to say no. You don’t have to be at every Zoom call or PTA meeting. Focus on what moves your work or home life forward.
5. Use tech smartly. Apps like Google Calendar, Notion, and baby tracker apps helped me stay sane.
You won’t always feel balanced, but with structure and support, you can do both. Don’t let guilt consume you. You’re already doing more than enough.

Combining motherhood and work effectively requires patience, planning, and support. A mother should not try to do everything perfectly alone. Creating a daily routine helps to balance work, childcare, and rest. Time management is very important because both family and career need attention. It is also good to ask for help from a partner, family members, or trusted caregivers when necessary. Most importantly, mothers should take care of their health and avoid too much stress. A balanced mind makes both parenting and working easier.

Beings a mother and pursuing a career is not something that is very easy to do. At a point, it looks like completely impossible. Many women always go on break in the year that they give birth. It only works if one can has a supportive family or can afford a maid that would take care of the infant while they work. But when a child is two years old, a woman can start working for like six hours daily since she the child would likely start school.
