As of the latest update for the 2024/2025 academic session, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) released a revised fee structure for both new and returning students. Below is a general breakdown:

    For New Students (Freshers):

Arts, Education & Social Sciences: ₦126,325

    Sciences & Engineering: ₦176,325

College of Medicine & Faculty of Pharmacy: ₦226,325Breakdown Includes:

    1. Tuition
    2. Registration
    3. ID card
    4. Library
    5. Laboratory (for science students)
    6. IT & utility fees

    For Returning Students:

Arts, Education & Social Sciences: ₦100,750

    Sciences & Engineering: ₦140,250

    Medicine & Pharmacy: ₦190,250

    Other Compulsory Fees:

    Acceptance fee (new students): ₦20,000

Hostel accommodation (optional): ₦65,000 – ₦85,000 depending on location

Late registration fee: ₦5,000 extra if you miss the normal window

    Example:
A new Engineering student will pay:
    ₦176,325 (school fee) + ₦20,000 (acceptance) = ₦196,325
If choosing to stay in a hostel: add ₦75,000 = ₦271,325 total

    Important Note:
These figures were announced by UNILAG in late 2023 and are subject to slight adjustments. Always confirm on the official UNILAG student portal or notice boards for the most accurate and updated info.

Right now the official fee schedule for 2025/2026 shows the tuition for most programs is still subsidized (government covers most cost), but you’ll still pay obligatory fees like registration, identity card, examinations, etc. These often total around ₦120,000–₦180,000 per session depending on your faculty — lab and studio courses cost more. Freshers also pay a ₦20–30k acceptance fee. So across two semesters, expect roughly ₦250,000–₦350,000 total. Just make sure you check your faculty portal because specific breakdowns vary by course.

People often confuse International School Lagos fees with the actual Uni department fees — they’re different. The International School fees (N380k+) you see online are for the primary/secondary school attached to UNILAG, not the undergraduate university fees. For the university itself, it remains subsidized but you still pay obligatory levies. Best tip: check myunilag portal for your exact breakdown because faculties set some extras.
