Case in point, I wanted to replace a pen I used on the job that worked really well for me. It wasn’t a pricey item so I tracked the pen down on a few sites and was pleased to see the item only cost about 5 dollars per unit. But when I’d go to order a couple of them, the price would double because the shipper wanted 9 or 10 bucks to mail me two pens. WTF people, we are talking a dollar in postage max and maybe as much as another dollar for a small padded mailer. I refuse to pay that kind of markup for basic mail service…

Free shipping is very important for online sales because customers often see shipping costs as an extra burden and may abandon their cart if it feels too high. Offering free shipping can increase trust, encourage more purchases, and even make your store stand out from competitors. If covering full shipping costs isn’t possible, many sellers build it into product prices or offer it on orders above a certain amount. It’s less about giving away something for free and more about removing friction for the buyer.
