Pet insurance differs from health insurance for people in several ways. Firstly, pet insurance typically covers only veterinary expenses, while health insurance for people covers a wide range of medical services including doctor visits, hospitalization, medication, and preventative care. Secondly, pet insurance often reimburses a percentage of the veterinary bill, whereas health insurance for people may involve copayments, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses. Additionally, pet insurance usually does not cover pre-existing conditions, while health insurance for people may offer coverage for pre-existing conditions after a waiting period. Overall, pet insurance tends to have more limited coverage and fewer options compared to health insurance for people.
