Set a specific savings goal, like an emergency fund or a future purchase, to stay motivated. Create a budget, allocating a fixed percentages of income to savings first. Automate transfers to a savings account right after payday to avoid spending temptation. Track expenses using apps like Mint or to identify and cut unnecessary costs. Limit impulse buys by enforcing a 24 hour wait rule for non essential purchases.

Keep savings separate in a high yield account to earn interest and reduce access. Review goals monthly to adjust for changes in income or expenses.

Another is to plan on eventually increasing your savings amount to up to 20 percent of your income every other time

Create a system for making consistent contributions like putting a specific amount of cash aside each day, week, or payday period. Aim to make it a specific amount, and stick to it
