I’m one person that I believe I’m using my phone too much and I’m trying to avoid excess of it because this does cause huge eye problems as you spend a lot of times on the screen

What I do not is to engage in other activities when I’m not working so that I spend less time with my phone. You just have to reset your mind to start loving other activities and mostly work with your phone.

    * If you stay ideal, you will feel like to use the phone. So the best thing to do is to get something doing, maybe hand work , exercise like football. You can even play games offline like ludo , card games etc. Engaging in these activities will help you stay away from staying too much on phone.

    * You can also teach yourself displine, by offing your phone or keeping your phone at home and go out to gist and talk with people outside. By doing so, you will gradually start to manage how you use phone.

When you spend too much time on your phone doing unproductive activities I will prevent you from accomplishing something significant.

You need discipline to be able to control the used of your phone. You should create time chart that will guide you on when to use you phone and when you are not to.

You should sometimes take a break from social media and online gaming. This will help you control the use of your phone.

I have two hours break during the day that I use to sleep, that period, I don’t use my phone. Being disciplined enough to enforce periods of digital drought daily would help one to limit the duration of phone usage. It just takes discipline to maybe find a physical book to read for two hours and drop your phone.

Swap mindless scrolling with hobbies you enjoy, such as reading or going for a walk. Tracking your screen time can help you see where you’re spending most of it. The goal is to build habits that keep your phone as a useful tool, not something you rely on all the time.

Controlling excessive phone use starts with becoming aware of how and when you use your device. Paying attention to the apps that take most of your time helps you understand your habits better. Once you identify the main distractions, it becomes easier to set realistic limits and make intentional changes.

Creating simple boundaries can make a big difference. This may include setting specific times to check your phone, turning off unnecessary notifications, or keeping the phone out of reach during work, study, or rest periods. Small adjustments like these help reduce constant checking without feeling overwhelming.

Replacing phone time with meaningful activities is also helpful. Reading, exercising, spending time with others, or focusing on personal goals can gradually reduce reliance on your phone. The goal is balance, not total avoidance. By building mindful habits and staying consistent, phone use becomes more controlled and supportive of daily life rather than a distraction.
