See lessBush falkowjihis one of them. This has to do with letting the place or piece of land fallow for some years to regain it’s fertility. It may not be very convenient because you will have to forfeit farming for some years
Another faster method is the use of manure and that is effective because it is a natural way of restoring fertility
Adding fertilizer is good but if you want to have better soil allow it to mature don't plant every year in the soil it will ensure that the farm land is well mature and fertile, You can use organic manure like grass and others Though believe if the farm land is very big allow it to reach some yearsRead more

A farm can be made fertile naturally by using compost, organic manure, and green manure crops to add nutrients back into the soil. Rotating crops and planting legumes helps fix nitrogen and maintain soil balance. Mulching keeps the soil moist and prevents erosion, while encouraging earthworms and beneficial microbes improves soil structure and fertility. These methods enrich the soil over time, setting the stage for a strong, productive harvest.

You don’t have to depend on synthetic fertilizer to make your farm fertile. Nature already provides many ways to enrich the soil and boost harvest. Here are some effective methods:
1. Add Organic Manure – Use animal dung, compost, or kitchen waste that has decomposed properly. They release nutrients slowly and improve soil structure.
2. Practice Crop Rotation – Don’t plant the same crop on the same land every season. Rotating with legumes (like beans or peas) helps fix nitrogen into the soil naturally.
3. Green Manure & Cover Crops – Plant fast-growing crops like clover, sunhemp, or cowpea, then plough them back into the soil. This adds organic matter and nutrients.
4. Mulching – Cover the soil with dry leaves, grass, or crop residue. Mulch conserves moisture, prevents erosion, and improves soil fertility as it decomposes.

It is always good to adopt ways to improve nutrient-poor soils without commercial fertilizers . fertilizers can be costly and inconsistent with the organic approach to soil fertility, .
So basically, Soil fertility can be improved by incorporating cover crops that add organic matter to the soil, which leads to improved soil structure and promotes a healthy, fertile soil;

Application of manure and animal dung is a more natural way to keep your Lang fertile. And this method is safe as it doesn’t affect the soil and the microorganisms present in the soil.
Cultivating the same crop on a piece of land for years will decrease the soils fertility. Farmers should adopt the practise of mixed farming.

If you want to have a bumper harvest next year, you would need to leave the farm fallow for a whole year and try to allow legumes to grow on it. They add nutrients to the soil. As much as possible, dispose your organic kitchen wastes there for that period. Make sure you don’t do bush burning on that piece of land. Do light clearing to take out the non legumes weeds that are growing on the farm.
