Some society like mine is really struggling to give equal opportunities to the girl child just like the boys. Do you experience same in your country?

In many parts of Nigeria, the girl child is gradually gaining more equal opportunities compared to the past, but full equality with the male child is still a work in progress. Today, more girls are enrolled in schools, excelling in academics, and participating in leadership roles. However, cultural beliefs, early marriage, and financial limitations still affect many girls’ access to education and career growth. In urban areas, awareness about gender equality is stronger, and both genders can often compete on the same level. Meanwhile, in rural communities, gender bias remains a barrier. Government programs, NGOs, and advocacy movements are working to close this gap through girl-child education campaigns and empowerment initiatives. True equality will be achieved when both boys and girls have the same access to education, opportunities, and freedom of choice without discrimination.

Honestly, things have improved a lot for girls in my country, but full equality still isn’t there yet. Many girls now have access to education, careers, and leadership roles, but social expectations and gender bias still hold some back. In some communities, boys are still seen as having more freedom or importance. Change is happening, though more people are speaking up for girls’ rights, and awareness about equality is growing. I think it’s a continuous effort that needs everyone families, schools, and governments to truly make opportunities equal for both boys and girls.
