A checking account and a savings account serve different financial purposes. A checking account is designed for frequent transactions, like paying bills, withdrawing cash, or making purchases. It offers easy access to your money through debit cards, checks, and online banking, but usually earns little or no interest. A savings account, on the other hand, is meant for storing money long-term and earning interest on your balance. Withdrawals are often limited to encourage saving. Savings accounts help build financial security, while checking accounts focus on convenience for daily money management. Together, they complement each other: checking for spending, savings for growth.
