As a responsible person, you need to help your parents when you’re capable of doing so, helping your parents require work to earn money, without working you won’t be able to help, sometimes our parents depends on us their son, so I don’t want to disappoint but help.

Of course, we as children have an obligation to pay off our parents’ debts, it’s not like you were raised and paid for by your parents at school, so it is a necessity that you have to take over all your parents’ debts. Calculate the total amount of debt your parents owe. If you have money, pay straight away in cash, but if you don’t have money you can pay off all the debt installments plus interest. So that your parents can live more peacefully in their old age.

Though there is another mindset too that parents are individual human beings too. They are supposed to take of their debts and not burden their children too much.

You know there is need to teach our parents financial literacy. Most of them did not learn how to budget well and make money grow through investment.

I can remember one man that invested his money on real estate business for the seek of his children and future generations.

Yes, why not I will. It is to Make sure i have a clear agreement about the form of help, such as a loan or gift, and any terms for repayment. If you want to give the person something outright, I will consider giving them cash, paying one of their bills directly, or providing them with non-cash assistance. Consider giving them a job, if I can. So it is two ways I would find out the amount of the debt to clear them and it I can get them jobs so that they don’t continue to be in debt.

Others ways to help my aging parents settled their debt include
Offering to help balance their checkbook or send monthly payments.Offer to have my parents move in with me if they need help financially to keep them off debt

If you want to pay off debt you need to earn money and the best way to earn money is to either startup a business or work under someone. Create a plan and budget on how you plan on saving enough capital to pay off the debt and set a time frame for yourself on when you want to pay it off completely.  Self discipline would also play an important role if you want to pay it off.

It is also the joy of parents to have kids who can assist them, but that doesn’t mean they have to leave debts everywhere though.
