Are Nigerians Still into Cryptocurrency?

Due to government policies and other restrictions through the banking institution, I wonder if the above mentioned country still have anything to do with cryptocurrency since most of their bank accounts would be restricted when they do.

Yes, Nigerians are known to be very innovative, a lot of ways have been created to be able to transact in crypto currency and also use P2P platforms, I think what stalls the progress in the crypto industry of the country is lack of understanding from government stakeholders.

There’s hope with time the ban will be lifted and the citizens will use crypto services without any fear.

Nigerians are still very much into cryptocurrency despite past banking restrictions. While the Central Bank of Nigeria had barred banks from facilitating crypto transactions, most trading shifted to peer-to-peer platforms, keeping adoption high. Nigeria remains one of the world’s top crypto users, driven by inflation, currency challenges, and a desire for alternative financial tools. Recently, regulatory adjustments allow licensed crypto businesses to operate more openly, making it easier for Nigerians to trade safely while maintaining strong interest and usage across the country.
