Yes, there is potential to make money by opening a viewing center, but it requires careful planning and execution:

• Do market research to assess demand in your area and ideal location (near sports stadiums, colleges etc). Estimate costs.
• Project revenues conservatively. Charge entry fees, pricing for food/drinks. Sales may vary seasonally with sports schedules.
• Obtain necessary licenses, permits, insurance and adhere to local regulations. Have provisions for security and emergency response.
• Create an inviting atmosphere with good sight lines to screens, comfortable seating, and quality AV equipment. Offer food/drinks.
• Promote aggressively via local ads, sports team partnerships, social media, listings sites to drive awareness and trial. Offer promotions.
• Cultivate loyal customer base through memberships, loyalty programs. Build community via fan clubs or events.
• Manage costs wisely, control food/beverage portions, optimize staffing schedules, negotiate vendor pricing.
• Consider revenue opportunities like corporate viewing parties, private room rentals, broadcast sports PPV events.
• Adapt to trends like fantasy sports, esports gaming to generate more traffic during non-peak hours.
• Keep facility and technology current. Renovate, add new screens/seating to maintain attendee interest long-term.

With smart location selection, effective marketing, quality customer service and cost control, a viewing center can become a profitable entertainment draw.
