While self-directed IRA LLCs provide investors with more flexibility to invest retirement funds into alternative assets beyond stocks and bonds, they come with complex requirements. The benefits of greater control over investment decisions and access to a wider range of investment options can be enticing for some individuals. However, the complex requirements may deter those who are not willing to navigate through the additional paperwork, potential legal issues, and the need for specialized knowledge.
