Simply being hard working doesn’t ensure any level of success or wealth. There are many individuals that remain very broke even after working very hard throughout their entire life. This generally occurs because of several reasons, such as low wages at work, not being financially literate, bad spending habits, lack of investment habits, too few opportunities, high expenses compared to income level, outstanding debt and not effectively using their time to build income/working smart relative to creating income or learning how to scale their income. Success is typically based upon a combination of being hardworking and having a solid strategy; and also developing new skills, making good investing/business decisions.

Frugality can help here to a large extent because a frugal person can become financially independent more quickly than the extravagant one as the former spends less money and saves more.

The thing is that Frugal living and Financial Independence  are interrelated as living frugally is one of  the keys to achieving financial independence.

Living frugally can lead to saving more money, reducing debt, and ultimately achieving financial independence. Mindful Spending: Fencourages individuals to be more intentional about their purchases, focusing on needs over wants.

Living frugally is  a money blocking mindset as one can budget effectively this way and actually increasing  financial freedom. Budgeting not only helps one to live within one’s means; it frees you up to make plans for what you enjoy. Make sure to outline what’s most important to youwith specific amounts that support these priorities.

There’s no fixed age for financial independence—it depends on personal goals, income, and discipline. However, many aim for it between *25 and 35*, after education and early career stages. By this age, you should:

    1. Earn enough to cover your needs without relying on others
    2. Manage and stick to a budget
    3. Save and invest consistently
    4. Handle emergencies without debt

Some achieve it earlier; others take longer. The key is planning, avoiding unnecessary debt, and building smart money habits early.

Maintaining a financially responsible lifestyle while enjoying your passions means planning and prioritizing. Set a clear budget that allocates funds for essentials, savings, and your hobbies, so you can enjoy what you love without going into debt. Look for ways to pursue interests cost-effectively like buying second-hand gear, sharing resources, or learning DIY alternatives. Tracking spending, setting goals, and occasionally reassessing priorities helps you enjoy life’s pleasures while keeping your financial future secure.
