Tax is one source of state revenue, even though it functions to develop the country, the implications of changing tax rates that are too high will kill small and medium entrepreneurs and also kill investors, for example, if crypto taxes are too high, buyers will be subject to VAT while selling will be subject to Income Tax. even though the sales price is below the purchase price (loss). On ready-to-eat food or in restaurants, VAT will be added to the purchase price paid by consumers. Small entrepreneurs will suffer even more because net profits will be subject to large income taxes. The government’s arbitrariness in increasing tax rates will cause great misery to the people.

Certificate of deposits (CDs) are financial products offered by banks and credit unions, allowing customers to earn higher interest rates on their savings in comparison to regular savings accounts. CDs have a fixed term, ranging from a few months to several years, during which customers cannot withdraw their funds without penalty. Upon maturity, customers receive their initial deposit amount plus the accrued interest. CDs are considered low-risk investments as they are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) for up to $250,000 per depositor.

We are not the whales, so when investing, we have to do it in stages or apply dollar cost averaging, so that it allows us to invest quietly every month or does not disturb our routine monthly needs, so we have to invest with idle money. There are several ways to calculate how much money we are idle every month.
1st. Add up all our income every month both from regular work, freelance and from earning sites such as forum sites, blogs etc.
2nd. Add up all your regular expenses, be it for food, clothes, paying for electricity, water, paying for internet subscriptions, etc.
3rd, Subtract income from expenses so that there is net income.
4th. At this stage, we can determine whether we are worthy of investing or have to improve or increase income first.

If we are eligible to be investors, it means that our income is greater than expenses. You can decide about 60% – 80% of your net income to buy investment instruments. Meanwhile, you can use the remaining money as an emergency reserve fund.

One can Keep emergency savings in an account that offers easy access and a competitive interest rate, such as a high-yield savings account. But it is good to avoid keeping emergency savings in cash, in illiquid accounts such as certificates of deposit or in risky investments such as stocks.

So, generally a high-yield savings account is the best emergency fund source. It helps to layer it with money market accounts.

Whether it’s best to save money in a savings account or invest it depends on your financial goals, time horizon, risk tolerance, and current financial situation. Here are some factors to consider:

Emergency Fund: Before considering investments, it’s generally advisable to build an emergency fund in a savings account. This fund should cover at least three to six months’ worth of living expenses. This ensures you have a financial safety net in case of unexpected expenses or emergencies.

Short-Term Goals: If you have short-term financial goals (e.g., buying a car, going on a vacation, or making a down payment on a house) within the next few years, saving in a high-yield savings account or a certificate of deposit (CD) may be a safer choice. These options offer liquidity and safety of principal.

Long-Term Goals: If your financial goals are more long-term (e.g., retirement, buying a home in 10+ years), investing in assets like stocks, bonds, and real estate can potentially provide higher returns over time. Investments typically carry more risk than savings accounts but offer the potential for greater rewards.

Diversification: If you choose to invest, it’s crucial to diversify your portfolio. Diversification helps spread risk across different asset classes, reducing the impact of poor performance in any one investment. Mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and robo-advisors can help achieve diversification.

Financial Goals and Objectives: Consider your specific financial goals, such as retirement, education funding, or buying a home. Different goals may require different investment strategies.

In summary, it’s not a matter of choosing between saving and investing; both have their place in a well-rounded financial plan. An effective strategy often involves a combination of both, with your allocation determined by your financial situation and objectives.
