Few years back so many had to make their money through blogging. We had countless classes out there teaching people how to make money through blogging. But it’s not so today, and why is this?

People spend more of their time working or catching fun on social media such as Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, etc at present, most don’t even have a one page website.

Does it mean blogging doesn’t pay anymore or people are tired of it?

People do blog far less than before, and it’s not because blogging stopped working — it’s because the internet changed. Here are the real reasons, explained clearly and in detail:

    1. Social Media Replaced Blogs for Speed & Attention

Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube made content:

    Faster to create

    Easier to consume

    More visual and entertaining

People prefer short-form content over long articles, especially on mobile. Blogging feels “slow” compared to posting a 30-second video.

    2. Attention Spans Got Shorter

    Modern users:

    Scroll instead of reading

    Skim instead of deep reading

    Want instant value

Blogging requires time, focus, and patience, which fewer people are willing to give today.

    3. Blogging Takes More Effort Now

In the past, you could write and get traffic easily. Today:

    SEO is more competitive

You need keyword research, optimization, backlinks

    AI content flooded the internet

    Quality expectations are higher

Many people give up because results aren’t instant.

    4. Monetization Looks Slower

    Compared to influencers:

    Bloggers grow slowly

    Income takes months (or years)

No instant likes, views, or dopamine

People prefer platforms that give quick feedback and validation.

    5. Platforms Own the Audience Now

    With blogs:

You own your website and email list

    With social media:

    Platforms control reach and algorithms

But they make exposure easier at the start

Most creators choose convenience over ownership.

    6. Blogging Feels “Outdated” (But Isn’t)

    Blogging is wrongly seen as:

    Old-school

    Less exciting

    Hard to scale

In reality, blogs still power search engines, businesses, and authority building — they just work quietly.

    7. Video & Audio Took Over

    People prefer:

Watching instead of reading (YouTube, TikTok)

    Listening instead of reading (podcasts)

Content consumption habits shifted, not disappeared.

    The Important Truth

Blogging didn’t die — casual blogging did.

Today, blogging works best when it’s:

    Strategic

    SEO-driven

    Authority-focused

    Combined with social media

Why Blogging Is Still Powerful Today

    ✔ Long-term traffic from Google
    ✔ Builds credibility and trust
✔ Owned content (no algorithm risk)
✔ High conversion for products & services
✔ Great for niches like tech, finance, education, business

    Final Answer

People don’t blog like before because social media is faster, easier, and more rewarding short-term.
But for those willing to play the long game, blogging is still one of the most powerful digital assets you can build.

Yes, a blog can absolutely become a real business. A successful blog is more than just writing articles; it is a platform that builds trust, audience, and influence. Bloggers can earn by selling products, offering services, affiliate marketing, sponsored posts, ads, ebooks, or online courses. Many businesses today started from simple blogs. The key is consistency, useful content, and understanding what readers truly need. Blogging is now both a passion and a digital business opportunity.

Handling burnout in blogging is mostly about finding a good balance and not overworking. Planning posts ahead of time and setting goals that are possible to reach can stop stress from building up. Taking breaks when needed is important so energy and creativity don’t run out. Getting help with things like editing or designing posts can make the work lighter. The main idea is to focus on making good content rather than posting too often, so the work stays consistent without causing too much stress.

In my own view and perspective I believe that it is left for the blogger to decide whether he or she will charge other bloggers to guest post in his or her own blog page. However the idea of charging other bloggers to guest post on your own blog page is never a bad idea and in fact it is absolutely one of the ways in which you can make extra reasonable amount of income online as a blogger. This is because for each post other bloggers gives you to represent in your own blog page you met at least nothing less than $100 in most blog pages. And if other bloggers most popular contents more than us you stand the chance of even learning from them and also improving on you have blocked page as well.

Guest blog posting, is highly acceptable by majority of bloggers, however it is very much important and necessary that they do not out do this. I would love to hear your opinions on this.

    • Generates conversions – People searching for topics related to your offerings are high-intent traffic ready to convert.
    • Improves discoverability – Good SEO puts you in front of readers as they search for your type of content.
    • It’s free traffic – SEO lets you earn visits to your site without paying for ads.
    • Levels playing field – SEO allows young sites to compete with established players on merit.
    • Diversifies reach – Search brings visitors who may not find you via social media or other channels.
    • Improves brand awareness – Appearing on Google reinforces your brand name and familiarity.
    • Scales traffic – SEO continues driving traffic without additional effort once the work is done.
