CPC in PPC advertising means “Cost Per Click” — it’s the amount you pay every time someone clicks your ad. It’s one of the core metrics that determines how much you spend and how profitable your campaign is.
Let’s say you run a Google Ads campaign and your ad gets 100 clicks and you spent ₦5,000 — your CPC would be ₦5,000 ÷ 100 = ₦50 per click.
Now, how do you figure out CPC value?
1. Manual Calculation
Use the formula:
CPC = Total Ad Spend ÷ Total Clicks
Example:
Spent ₦12,000 and got 300 clicks
₦12,000 ÷ 300 = ₦40 CPC
2. Use Platform Metrics
Ad platforms like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc., automatically calculate CPC for each campaign. You’ll see it listed on your campaign dashboard under “Performance” or “Analytics.”
3. Benchmark It
What counts as a “good” CPC depends on your industry. For example:
Finance CPCs in Nigeria might be ₦150–₦400 per click
Entertainment or blog traffic might cost ₦15–₦60 per click
Smart move? Monitor your CPC vs. conversions. A low CPC is useless if no one buys. High CPC is fine if your profit margin covers it.
Quick Tip: Always A/B test headlines, keywords, and call-to-actions to push your CPC down. The more relevant your ad, the cheaper your click.
Na real money matter be this — so calculate am well and watch your spend.
