There is a reason why we have business hour and whenever you customer comes after or before this time you have the right to agree or to disagree to his proposal.

Because you render service doesn’t mean you don’t have a life of your own.

As a businessman you have the right to agree or choose to disagree with any business proposition.
That is why you need to have your terms and condition and also some written rules of how and when you work. Saying no to an emergency work might be to your own benefit which you should take very important and serious.
Because at that moment you might be having your own personal family time and at that moment work should never come in between your family.

Most people understand that you have limits, especially if it’s outside business hours or too short notice. The key is in how you say it politely explain your schedule or offer an alternative time or referral. Setting boundaries is okay, as long as you handle it with professionalism and care.

This is why it is always good to meet humans that are understanding because life is unpredictable because sometimes we run into situations we can’t control.

So I don’t see anything offensive about this especially if you are sincere about your excuses in why you can’t accept the last hour job. Just let the client know on time why you can’t take the job and how you can’t execute the job.

If you take emergency orders from customers and you don’t deliver according to specifications because you were rushing, it is the same customer that might demand that you refund their money. And you would be in loss. If you fail to meet up with the delivery dateline, they would still be the ones to tell everyone how you can’t deliver simple orders on time. You better prioritize your integrity than a customer feeling offended when it comes to your decision to accept or reject emergency work. They would still appreciate you for that.
